Many people are concerned about the state that the environment is in. Pollution and Global warming are two of the biggest threats to the environment, but fortunately these problems can be reduced if people become more eco-friendly. There are many companies that are doing their part to make sure that their employers are more eco-friendly. Recycling is one of the best things that people can do for their environment. Everyday, thousands of materials that could have been reused are thrown away.

When people recycle, they help reduce waste. Additionally, littering is another problem that threatens the health of the environment and recycling also helps reduce the amount of trash that is carelessly thrown on the ground.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here. Pollution for cars is another threat to the environment. Companies are doing their part by encouraging people to carpool. The less cars on the road, the less pollution there is.

Companies are also choosing to use more eco-friendly cleaning products. There are chemicals in most cleaning products that contribute to the depletion of the ozone lawyer. The ozone layer has been getting depleted for years, which is why global warming is such a call for concern. Using eco-friendly products helps prevent further damage to the ozone layer.

Environmental awareness includes more than just recycling at home. You can go “green” while you travel, check out the top 5 new eco-friendly gadgets of 2011.

Knowing the time of day can make a difference. Consider taking a water powered travel alarm clock. This clock will keep you on time. Small and cost effective it turns the energy in the water into fuel.

Why buy throwaway batteries when you could use USB-powered rechargeable batteries. Use them like normal batteries, except to recharge you remove the top and connect to a laptop or other device using the USB connection.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here.

Whether camping or hiking having a solar-powered backpack that has a charger for your cell phone can come in handy.

Another handy gadget when you need light is the wind up flashlight; the light lasts for around 30 minutes after winding.

One last thing you need to consider when traveling, water quality. To protect yourself buy a water bottle with a filter. While they will not filter out the bad taste of a town’s water, the filter will shield you from most bacteria.

Purchasing these top 5 new eco-friendly gadgets of 2011 will enhance your trip and help the earth stay beautiful.

In addition to sport clothing, like swimsuits, and planned special occasion outfits for formal dining, etc., include one outfit per day, plus one extra ‘just in case’ set. Choose sleepwear to accommodate two to three nights per set, and daily clean underwear and socks. Try to select a single set of outerwear like jacket, sweater, hat, etc., to go with all outfits. You will likely be walking more than usual, so be sure to choose sturdy, comfortable shoes, and if possible, pack another extra lightweight pair of shoes as well.Never heard of this before? Get up to speed here.
Your most comfortable jeans, trousers, or capris are good casual travel choices, as they can be be worn for two or three days if needed, and dressed up and down with a simple change of tops. For example, one pair of jeans coupled with two to three tops, can keep you dressed nicely for three or more days. Try to choose clothing fabrics that are travel friendly. Cottons are cool, but wrinkle easily. Polyester and most synthetics are warm, but usually resist wrinkling.
Avoid over-packing, which is the single most common mistake made by travelers. Plan to take the clothing you want, but plan to wear the clothing you take!

Here are a few of our picks for the best spots to check out so go ahead and get wildblue and use your internet connection to find out more…
Golden Isles: Coastal Georgia has some of the most scenic beaches in the south…dotted with tall palms, wild horses and undisturbed beaches. There are plenty of hotel and restaurant options here and you can check out the different islands to determine how remote you really want to be.
Outer Banks: The famed Outer Banks are just as remote as they’re rumored to be and there’s a lot of relaxation to be had here.

Green technology is the use of conservation tools that are environmentally friendly. The green products are re-usable and re-recyclable, and they do not use electricity or gas. They reduce our impact on the Earth by reducing burning of fossil fuels and damage to plants, animals and the environment. The amount of waste is also reduced, because most green technology is reusable, so it does not have to be thrown away. Surprisingly, most people struggle with high electricity bills. Green technology can help you save money on your electricity bill and save the environment. There are many things you can use green technology for such as cooling, heating, computers and driving.
Trade your electric or gas hot water heater for an environmentally friendly solar water heater. A solar water heater will heat water with energy it gathers from the sun. It can save you up to eighty percent on your bills. Switch out your old light-bulbs for the new environmentally friendly light-bulbs, or fluorescent light-bulbs. Remember to turn off the lights and unplug large appliances when you leave the room. Set your computer on standby when you’re not using it, and plug it into a power strip. A power strip will save a lot of electricity, and you can press the “off” button when you are done using all appliances.

When families are not conscious about conserving electricity, electric bills can fly through the roof. Any family needs to have an action plan when it comes to conserving energy. By implementing an action plan, a family can save hundreds of dollars on electric bill in a given year.

Often, kids are the major problem in creating high electric bill expenses. Getting kids to be conscious of electric use can be downright difficult. To encourage children to be more conservative with energy use, a parent should not attach a negative connotation to things like shutting off the lights, unplugging the computer, or turning off the television. Whenever a parent yells at a child for forgetting to turn off the lights or unplug the computer, that child will automatically think of energy conservation as a negative thing.

Instead, parents should make a game out of energy conservation. Every time a child forgets to turn off lights or the television, he or she should receive a tally next to his or her name. The child with the least tally marks at the end of a month then gets to have a surprise chosen by the parents. Or, the child will get to choose a fun and cost-free activity that the family can do together, such as watching a movie.

In today’s economy, families are looking for every possible way to cut costs. Electricity is one of the most expensive bills that a home owner receives monthly. Everyone already knows the basics like turning off the light when you leave the room or making sure the TV is off if no one is watching, but what about other ways to help you keep your electric bill down?

A home wind turbine may seem a bit odd, but when you see the drastic change in your electric bill, you may think otherwise. A wind turbine processes the power from the wind and converts it into electricity.Want more? Click here/tag They are a bit expensive to buy, but you can also make one on your own if you’re up for a challenge. Some places even give you a tax break to use one! Have dinner in the dark. Why would you do that, right? Think about it, your lights are mainly on in the evening right around dinner time. A majority of your bill lies here within the night time. You can turn off all the lights and have a romantic candle lit dinner. Not only will it be relaxing and beautiful, your pocketbook will thank you!
