How many clothes should you bring on vacation?
In addition to sport clothing, like swimsuits, and planned special occasion outfits for formal dining, etc., include one outfit per day, plus one extra ‘just in case’ set. Choose sleepwear to accommodate two to three nights per set, and daily clean underwear and socks. Try to select a single set of outerwear like jacket, sweater, hat, etc., to go with all outfits. You will likely be walking more than usual, so be sure to choose sturdy, comfortable shoes, and if possible, pack another extra lightweight pair of shoes as well.Never heard of this before? Your most comfortable jeans, trousers, or capris are good casual travel choices, as they can be be worn for two or three days if needed, and dressed up and down with a simple change of tops. For example, one pair of jeans coupled with two to three tops, can keep you dressed nicely for three or more days. Try to choose clothing fabrics that are travel friendly. Cottons are cool, but wrinkle easily. Polyester and most synthetics are warm, but usually resist wrinkling.
Avoid over-packing, which is the single most common mistake made by travelers. Plan to take the clothing you want, but plan to wear the clothing you take!
